Removing Front Door Glass Inserts
Take the door off of the hinges and lay it down on the exterior side. Remove all of the screw covers and unscrew all of the screws. Once you have removed all of the screws, take the door and the frame off so that the glass is all by itself. If there is any caulk around the frame you will want to take a metal putty knife and remove it. Remove the old glass from cardboard and dispose.
Replacing Front Door Glass
Once you have the door taken apart, get the new glass. Make sure you have properly measured the glass for your doorframe. Lay the glass down and caulk the inner edge of the frame that connects to the glass and the outer edge that connects to the door. This will ensure a good tight seal on the outside. Once you have caulked the frame of the door, set the frame on top of the glass and turn the glass over. Make sure that everything is lined up properly. Grab the door, and line it up with the exterior of the frame and set it on top. Take the inside piece of the frame and set it into place. Screw the screws back into the door. Put the door back on its hinges and it’s like you have a new door.
